本系列作品為易宗成老師創意作品，雕刻為樹節底部形狀，四方底部分別有切斷的樹根形狀，作品底部刻有樹的年輪圖案，特別之處還在于作者題款在作品側面。硯臺中間還作了樹的腐爛不規則小孔效果，作品非常逼真。確保正品。
合川峽硯又稱墨玉寶硯，釣魚城峽硯或三峽石硯臺等。采用重慶合川釣魚城下嘉陵江瀝濞峽段的天然峽石精雕細琢而成，是一種古老的民間手工藝品。
易宗成，不僅是重慶市工藝美術協會授予的重慶市工藝美術大師，而且是重慶合川區級非物質文化遺產合川峽硯制作技藝代表性傳承人，同時還于2017年2月榮獲重慶合川區首批“合川工匠”殊榮。
合川峽硯雕刻技藝始于宋代，盛于明清，歷史悠久，要完成一件合川峽硯，需經原石開采（洞采）、選料、構思、繪圖、初步造型、精細雕刻、打磨成品、打蠟拋光等十余道工序，采用打、鑿、刻、挖、鉆等多種技法，根據花紋復雜程度，花費時間在幾天到幾月甚至一年不等，每一道工序、每一種雕刻技法，都是用時間和汗水換來的。
目前合川峽硯雕刻工藝后繼無人，整個合川本地從事硯臺制作的藝人只有十位左右，雕刻技術面臨失傳。大師作品更是數量有限，每件作品均為獨品。

Hechuan gorge inkstone carving began in the Song Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, has a long history, to complete a Hechuan gorge Yan, the stone mining (hole mining), material selection, design, drawing, preliminary shape, fine engraving, polishing, waxing and polishing finished ten working procedures, the use of a chisel engraved, digging, drilling a variety of techniques, according to the pattern of complexity, to spend time in a few days to a few months or even a year, every process, every kind of carving techniques, was purchased with time and sweat.
At present, the Hechuan gorge inkstone carving leave no successor, the Hechuan local artists engaged in Yantai production of only ten or so, engraving technology lost face. The master works are limited in quantity, and each work is the only one.
